The Central Asian Research Center and the club of International Relations organized a student seminar, which took place on 25th of December of 2017 at Manas Kyrgyz-Turkish University.

Komil Rashidov- the ambassador of the Republic of Uzbekistan in Kyrgyzstan was invited as a quest. The respected ambassador who started his career as an ambassador in 2013 conducted the seminar on the topic of cooperation of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan in many spheres.


In his speech the ambassador noted that in recent years the legal basis of the stable economic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.

According to him, ratification of the agreement about the state borders between Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan is a particularly important document in Foreign Policy issues. First of all, they are aimed at further strengthening of cooperation and good-neighborliness between the two fraternal peoples, the two states based on mutual respect and equality of friendly relations.

"The Ambassador also stressed the dynamics of the development of Kyrgyz-Uzbek trade and economic relations and recalled that over the past period of 2017 the volume of trade between the two countries increased by 60% and amounted to $ 170 million.

In addition, the countries are working on the development of effective transport routes in the region, the construction of a low-distance rail line linking China through the territory of Kyrgyzstan, and the Andijan-Osh-Kashgar road, which are of great importance for the development of cooperation in the trade, economic, transport and communication spheres.

According to him, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are considered important for each other as trade and economic partners. A favorable atmosphere has been created for today, and there are many opportunities to expand the scale of mutually beneficial cooperation.

Currently, there are 154 agreements and arrangements to streamline the legal framework for cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in various fields. All agreements are aimed at strengthening the independence, sovereignty of the two countries, ensuring their territorial integrity and inviolability of borders, as well as strengthening relations in all areas.
