Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that they plan to increase their trade turnover by two and a half times with Ankara.  According to Nazarbayev, Ankara and Astana have similar views on the regional and international agenda.

Kazakh president said, “Our meeting with Turkey was important and productive. This meeting enabled us to exchange opinions on some issues. In general, I would like to point out that Astana and Ankara have openly discussed their problems of similar issues in the regional and international arena.” He also emphasized that the political dialogue and friendship between the peoples of the two countries should be strengthened and deepened. According to the information given; two Turkish states plan to increase trade and economic co-operation.

"There are more than 1800 enterprises with the participation of Turkish capital in our country. Last year the trade volume between the two countries was almost 2 billion US dollars. This figure is expected to reach 5 billion US dollars in the future," Nazarbayev said. He also urged Turkish investors to actively participate in the development of the transport and logistics center at the ports of Aktau and Kuryk.  During the negotiations, we discussed our cooperation in the fields of transit transport, oil and gas, military-technical, agriculture, tourism, culture, education, science and technology. "During the negotiations today, we have dealt with cooperation in the fields of transit transport, oil and gas, military-technical, agriculture, tourism, culture, education, science and technology. We agreed to strengthen our cooperation in these areas, "Nursultan Nazarbayev said.

Recep Tayyip Erdoğan also talked about the development of trade and economic relations, the deepening of cooperation in the fields of education ,and culture and the important results of the discussions on these positive dynamics. According to the EADaily news agency; Turkey is one of the ten largest trade partner of Kazakhstan. Since Kazakhstan gained its independence, the Turkish business community has invested more than $ 3 billion via approximately 2 thousand Turkish enterprises  and contributed to Kazakhstan's economy.
