The intergovernmental Agreement was signed between the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic on international road transport of December 25, 2003. From 5 to 6 November 2018, in Astana, the regular meeting of the Kazakh-Kyrgyz Commission on Road Transport was held in the framework of this agreement.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the issues of passenger and cargo transportation, also exchanged information on the volumes of cargo transportation between the Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyzstan and noted the positive dynamics .

For 8 months of 2018, the volume of cargo transportation by road between Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan increased by 42% and amounted to 1040.8 thousand tons. The main cargoes transported by road are plant products, ready-made food products, consumer goods, construction products, and so on.

During the negotiations, a quota was established for the exchange of permit forms for 2019 in the amount of 500 permits to / from third countries and 30 permits for the occasional carriage of passengers.

At the same time, the parties agreed to revise the timetable for the transit passenger route “Bishkek-Tashkent”.

Following the meeting, a protocol was signed.
