The trade between the Turkestan region and Uzbekistan amounted to $ 447 million in 11 months and increased to 27.7% compared to last year. This was announced at a press conference by Eldos Saudabayev the Deputy State of Revenue Department for the region.

According to him, 14539 declarations on goods is prepared by the two custom posts of the department . Compared to last year, this indicator increased by 4036 units or by 38.4%.

“174 865 freight vehicles passed through the custom posts which is 63,7% more than last year. In addition, 244 310 cars crossed the border. Along with this, 17 019 264 citizens crossed the customs border, which is 46,8% more than last year. At the same time, in order to speed up the passage of vehicles, additional workplaces were equipped and customs personnel were increased. Moreover, in order to increase the  bandwidth capacity of vehicles, from February 2019, the reconstruction of the B.Konysbaev checkpoint will begin," said Saudabayev. He also stressed that this project provides an increase in car lanes from 2 to 6.

He added that the department instituted 514 administrative cases   in relation to goods and persons transported across the customs border of the Eurasian Economic Union. The modernization of customs procedures and the automation of customs,tax administration processes are also continuing.
