On 17.06.2019, the heads of government of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and Kazakhstan  Askar Mamin attended the joint opening ceremony of the international Beineu-Akzhigit-Uzbekistan border road.

The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin said: “The newly opened road will soon benefit for the opening of shorter route for Uzbekistan goods to the Russian market. In addition, Kazakhstan seaports and highways will enable Uzbekistan goods to be opened to the markets of the Caucasian countries. Likewise, it was reported that commercial goods marketing between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan reached US $ 3 billion last year and increased by 25% since the beginning of this year.

If we recall, the highway is 84 km long. This road is an international transit corridor leading to the Caspian region and the countries entering the European Union and is covered by the Tashkent-Samarkand-Bukhara-Nukus-Beyneu-Atyrau-Astrakhan motorway.

108 million US dollars were spent on the construction of the road.
