The UK increased its investments in Kazakhstan: the gross inflow of direct investments increased by 17% per year.

According to the Kazpravda.kz news website, the UK is one of the main strategic partners of Kazakhstan and the gross inflow of direct investments from the UK to Kazakhstan, based on data for the first half of 2019, it increased by 17.2% to 336.5 million USD. In 2018, this rate was 287 million US dollars.

Overall, gross direct investment inflows in 2018 increased by 11.1% compared to 2017 ($ 533.8 million in 2017), reaching $ 593.1 million. Thus, the total cost of investments made by the UK in Kazakhstan in the last 10 years has reached 8.8 billion dollars.

In 2018, the total trade volume of the two countries was 1.3 billion dollars. As for the main share of turnover, Kazakhstan's exports of goods and services amounted to 63% 793.9 million dollars, while imports from the UK reached 37% with 466.8 million dollars.

As of the end of September 2019, there are 395 UK companies operating in Kazakhstan, 345 of which are small, 20 of which are medium and 30 of which are large.

UK investors have significantly financed the finance and insurance sector with $ 2.4 billion and the mining and quarry sectors with $ 1.8 billion.
