Over T23 billion was spent on the fight against coronavirus from the government's reserves according to Minister of information and public consent of Kazakhstan Dauren Abayev.

"Regarding the allocation of funds for the fight against coronavirus, we are not talking about anti-crisis measures announced by the President (Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev-KazTAG). Money from the government reserve was allocated three times to fight the coronavirus. The first tranche, T1,609 billion was allocated from January 29, T428, 227 million was additionally allocated on February 21. The third time, funds amounted to T21, 43 billion from the reserve were allocated by the government on March 25, " Abayev said on Wednesday.
According to him, these funds were used to purchase medicines, medical devices and laboratory equipment: masks, gloves, protective suits and test systems.
"The cost of evacuating citizens by the national emergency medicine coordination center and equipping civil service employees, purchasing disinfection products, and other expenditure were included in this amount. Separately, requests were made to clarify the budget in order to pay bonuses to medical workers involved in the fight against coronavirus," the Minister added.
