During the reporting meeting with the population at the Central communications Service under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Minister of energy Nurlan Nogayev announced that a gas processing plant will be built at the Kashagan field, Kazinform reports.

"If in 2019 the volume of exports of condensate and oil amounted to 72.2 million tons, this year it amounted to 67.5 million tons. In the Atyrau region, the Tengiz field is implementing a prospective expansion project worth $ 45.2 billion. Our (domestic) share is 36 percent, or $ 16 billion. About 230 domestic service companies are involved in construction work, metal construction and other works. After the completion of the project, an additional 12 million tons of oil can be extracted, " explained the Minister of energy of Kazakhstan Nurlan Nogayev.
According to him, work is underway at the Kashagan field to reach the level of oil production up to 450 thousand barrels per day by 2022. Work is also underway to build a gas processing plant and modernize compressors.
"Together with the contractors, we are working on the roadmap for the second stage of the Kashagan field. The construction of a gas processing plant with a capacity of 1 billion cubic meters during the contract period will allow for additional production of about 8 million tons of oil, " N. Nogayev said.
