Turkish and Kyrgyz businessmen exchanged views for the development of trade between the countries.

According to AK Party and Karaman city’s Deputy Rezhep Sheker, Karaman’s agricultural machinery production, textiles, biscuits, cakes and chocolate, construction building materials, milk and dairy products and pharmaceuticals have a series of contacts with the names of the leading figures in the capital of Kyrgyzstan Bishkek.

Sheker and his delegation met with Kyrgyz businessmen at the Kyrgyz- Turkish Business Development Forum. On the first day of the meeting, Kyrgyzstan Socialist ‘Ata Meken’ Party’s deputies Emil Toktoshev and Sher-Niyaz Sadyk, Minister of Economy Dastan Kadyrov, Shumkarbek Adilbek uulu, President of the Agency for the Promotion and Protection of Investments participated.

The meeting was moderated by Deputy Sheker Sher-Niyaz Sadyk. The support given to them by Turkish investors in difficult times was unforgettable, he said.

According to Sadyk: “the collapse of the Soviet Union caused a collapse of all business sectors in the country due to the political and economic crisis. Turkish investors came first to the country, and helped Kyrgyz people in the difficult period. The people will never forget it”. Sadyk, who is also a well-known director in Kyrgyzstan, stated that the contribution of Turkish businessmen to the economy of Kyrgyzstan should be “demonstrated” and continued: “The Turkish businessmen who contribute to the Kyrgyz economy should be filmed. It should be spread among universities and told to the Kyrgyz people. This duty is government’s”.

 Deputy Toktoshev mentioned that the government continued to fight corruption, “Kyrgyzstan has achieved political stability. We invite Turkish businessmen to invest in the development of rural areas in Kyrgyzstan.” he said.

Making a presentation about Karaman’s investment potential, Sheker pointed out that they made this visit to introduce Karaman to Kyrgyzstan. “We will strive to achieve the goal of increasing the volume of foreign trade (between the two countries) to $ 1 billion”. Turkish- Kyrgyz Business Development Platform spokesman Muhammer Akkaya said that they planned to increase investment. Akkaya, “Kyrgyzstan has great potential in many areas, such as agriculture, food, livestock, energy, etc. The two-day meeting will bring the opportunities for our countries”.
