President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sooronbay Jeenbekov, at the 7th Summit of the Cooperation Council of Turkic Speaking Countries in Baku, Azerbaijan, had a meeting with President of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.

According to Kabar.kg news site, issues of cooperation were discussed between Kyrgyzstan and Turkey during the meeting between leaders of the two countries. In the negotiations, Jeenbekov stressed that Turkey is Kyrgyzstan’s brother and friendly country. Leader of Kyrgyzstan also pointed out that the relations between the countries intensified after President Erdoğan’s official visit to Kyrgyzstan in September 2018.

President Erdoğan congratulated his counterpart President Jeenbekov on the success of Kyrgyzstan’s presidency of the Turkic Council. Sides stated that they are ready to strengthen the joint efforts in line with previous agreements on cooperation in priority areas on the common agenda and increase bilateral trade volume between the two countries to 1 billion US dollars.
