Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Erlan Abdyldaev took part in the International Conference "Counteraction to Terrorism and Prevention of Violent Extremism" in Dushanbe, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported.

The main objectives of the conference were to strengthen cooperation at the national, regional and international levels in the fight against terrorism and radicalism; identification of trends and problems of radicalization; exchange of experience in the fight against terrorism and prevention of violent extremism, reassessment of domestic and regional mechanisms for combating terrorism; as well as strengthening cooperation in the fight against cyber-terrorism.

As a result of the conference, the participants adopted the Dushanbe Declaration.

The event was organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Tajikistan, and co-organized by the UN, the OSCE and the EU. The conference was also attended by leaders and representatives of the foreign policy departments of the CIS member states, the SCO, the EU, as well as the countries of Asia, Africa and North America.
