On September 24, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yildirim, who arrived in Uzbekistan on an official visit.
In his speech, President Mirziyoyev expressed his satisfaction with Yıldırım's visit.
Mirziyoyev emphasized that traditionally close and friendly Uzbek-Turkish relations reached the strategic partnership level thanks to political will and collective efforts. He said that the agreements were signed between Turkey and Uzbekistan in various fields and the visits provided constructive cooperation.
The President of Uzbekistan, Mirziyoyev, said the active support of parliamentarians to support joint programs and cooperation projects is important, as well as the implementation of the agreements.
At the visit, Yildirim also conveyed President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's sincere greetings and good wishes. Yildirim said that they welcomed major reforms in Uzbekistan recently and Turkey is ready to support the projects which improve Uzbekistan's economy and social sector.
They reiterated their views on further strengthening traditional friendship and long-term strategic partnership relations.
Later, Yildirim met with Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov and discussed bilateral relations.
Yildirim also visited the monument of Independence and Humanism in Tashkent and laid a wreath.
