On October 5, the press service of the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic reported that Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev introduced a visa-free regime for French citizens.

On October 4, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev announced that a visa-free regime has been established for citizens of France to enter Uzbekistan. The decree came into force on October 5.

According to the the State Committee for Tourism of the Republic, this decision was made in order to create the most favorable conditions for the development of international relations between Uzbekistan and France, promoting cultural, scientific, educational exchange between countries, improving the investment climate and positively influencing the development of the country's tourism potential.

In February, Mirziyoyev signed a decree introducing a visa-free regime for citizens of Israel, Indonesia, South Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Turkey and Japan from February 10, as well as a simplified procedure for obtaining tourist visas for citizens of 39 countries that included French tourists. Uzbekistan also has a visa-free regime with CIS countries.
