Uzbekistan's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) was reported to have increased by 5.8 percent in the first half of the year and reached 222 trillion and 22 billion soms.

Uzbekistan State Statistics Committee, GDP data for the first half of the year announced. According to the statement, in the January-June period of 2019, GDP increased by 5.8 percent compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 222 trillion and 22 billion som (about $ 26 billion).

In the period in question, the industry sector 6.9 percent, agriculture, forest and fisheries sector 2.1 percent, construction sector 20 percent, transport and logistics sector 5.1 percent, services sector showed an increase of 4.1 percent.

In the January-June period, the share of industry in GDP was 30.3 per cent, the share of agriculture, forestry and fishing was 24.3 per cent, the construction sector was 7.6 per cent and the services sector was 37.8 per cent.

In the last year, Uzbekistan's GDP increased by 5.1 percent to 407 trillion 514 billion som, industrial production 10.6 percent, agriculture, forest and fisheries 0.3 percent, construction sector 9.9 percent, services sector 5.4 had increased.

The Uzbek government foresees an average 5 percent increase in GDP this year. In the renewed Global Economic Expectations Report of the World Bank, Uzbekistan's GDP is estimated to increase 5.3 percent in 2019.
