UzAuto Motors has launched production of Chevrolet cars in Kazakhstan. At the first stage, the production volume will be 26 thousand cars per year. The model range is Cobalt, Damas, Labo and Malibu.

UzAuto Motors has launched production of the Chevrolet brand cars in Kazakhstan. The conveyor was launched on March 28 in Kostanay by the Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov, who took part in the event via a teleconference, and the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
"Gazeta.uz" reported in the press service of “Uzavtosanoat” that General Motors and UzAuto Motors reached an agreement of producing new models, including the Cobalt family car Sedan (formerly Ravon R4), Damas and Labo commercial vehicles, and the Malibu premium car.
Production has been established at the SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP, where Ravon (Nexia R3) cars have already been produced since May 2017. All products will meet international standards set by General Motors. It is noted that the car Ravon Nexia R3 will also be produced under the Chevrolet brand.
Soon, it is expected that Chevrolet model portfolio in Kazakhstan will include new models, such as Tracker, Trailblazer and others.
At the first stage, the production volume will be 26 thousand cars per year, but it will be followed by an increase to 100 thousand units. 13 thousand cars are planned to be exported to neighboring countries in the first year of production.
The project was implemented within the framework of a joint venture established between JSC "Allur CC "and JSC “Uzavtosanoat". Their agreement was signed on February 26, 2020 at the Forum for cross-border cooperation in Urgench.
In March 2017, an agreement was reached to start production of cars at the SaryarkaAvtoProm LLP during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Kazakhstan. Since then more than 11 thousand passenger cars were produced that is equal to 85 million dollars.
