CentralAsia (UZ) reports that a solar power station (SES) with a capacity of 100 MW will be built in the Samarkand region of Uzbekistan.

The decree was signed by the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
The document approved an investment agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan represented by the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade and the French company “Total Eren SA”. The solar power plant is for 25 years.
Last September, it was reported that the French company Total Eren will invest 150 million euros in the construction of the solar power plant with a total capacity of 100 MW in the Samarkand region.
It is planned to commission SES by the first quarter of 2021.
