On June 25, the Board of Directors of the Asian development Bank (ADB) approved the allocation of $ 500 million in budget support to Uzbekistan. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The allocated funding will be aimed at ensuring macroeconomic stability, smooth operation of economic sectors, as well as effective social support for the population during the pandemic.
These funds will also be used for the purchase of ventilators, test systems, personal protective equipment, and the provision of individual social packages to women health workers.
This financial assistance is an additional support of the ADB to the grant funds previously provided to the government of Uzbekistan in the amount of 1,555,900 dollars in the framework of regional technical assistance.
