According to the statement made by the Press Office of the Presidency of Uzbekistan, presidential candidate of Uzbekistan from the Movement of Entrepreneurs and Business People Shavkat Mirziyoyev met with voters of the Surkhandarya region on October 8.
It is planned to declare 2022-2026 in Surkhandarya as the fifth anniversary of providing clean water and to build 1.7 thousand water supply networks, part of which will be a main water supply network with a length of 361 km from the Topalang reservoir to Termez. The leader plans to implement 10 megaprojects that will increase the development of the economic side of the region, to master investments of $ 5.1 billion within the framework of projects and develop 22 thousand new jobs. In total, it is planned to implement more than 5 thousand investment projects worth 6.6 billion dollars for the next 5 years.
The export of fruits and vegetables from the region has increased by 2 times in recent years and reached $ 100 million. The Head of State stressed that with the use of the entire capacity of the Surkhandarya region, this number could amount to more than 500 million dollars.
"Over the next five years, we will put all the reforms in our country, including in Surkhandarya region, on the basis of a completely new system of "man - society - state", - said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
