The Indian government will make a road to Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan, with a cost of US $ 46.5 million.

The Indian side will pay this expense by dividing it into financial assistance. According to Dushanbe Municipality Press Release Directorate, Dushanbe Mayor Rustam Emomali and India's Ambassador to Tajikistan Somnat Gosh attended the project opening ceremony. The project is planned to build a 9.2 km long road. The planned road, Dushanbe's West gate of the town will be made up to the town of Chortut. The width of the road is 40 meters wide and it can accommodate 8 vehicles in one trip. Within the scope of the project, it is planned to build a bridge to Hisar Canal, pavement for pedestrians, road lighting and traffic signs. The Mayor of Dushanbe assigned the relevant officials to make the project in a quality that would meet the demands of international standards and to complete the project within the specified time.

In recent years, the Indian government has provided financial and technical support to the Republic of Tajikistan for many projects. Last year, President of the Republic of India, Ram Nath Kovind, announced during his official visit to Tajikistan that India would grant $ 20 million to Tajikistan. In 2002, the Indian government signed an agreement on the reconstruction of the same military airport, 25 km from Dushanbe, the capital of Tajikistan. In 2007, India provided financial assistance to Tajikistan for the reorganization project.
