On November 19, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin attend ceremony in Istanbul to mark completion of TurkStream's offshore section.

TurkStream project, a gas pipeline that will carry Russian gas to Turkey and Europe. It's a joint project that will see a gas pipeline stretch across the Black Sea, linking Russia, Turkey and southeastern Europe.

The transit-free project through the Black Sea consists of two lines. The first line is intended for gas supplies to Turkish consumers, while the second will supply gas to southern and southeastern Europe.

The planned estimated capacity of the pipeline will be 63 billion cubic meters per year. It is believed that Turkey will get about 14 billion cubic meters of gas per year from this project and the remaining 49 billion cubic meters of gas will be exported to Europe.

The project was first proposed by Russian President Vladimir Putin on 1 December 2014. After that, pipeline construction started in May 2015 in the framework of agreements between the two countries.
