62.000 visitors from Central Asian countries visited Turkey in February.

According to the statement of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Turkey, during this period, it is recorded that most of the visitors coming from Central Asian countries who visited Turkey were from Turkmenistan. With 21.200 citizens of Turkmenistan it is 28.1% more than the same period of 2018. The share of Turkmenistan in the total number of foreign citizens visiting Turkey is 1.27%.

Uzbekistan became the second Central Asian country with most visitors coming to Turkey in February, and it has declined compared to the same period last year. In 2019, according to the statement, 16.600 Uzbekistani citizens visited Turkey, which is less than the previous year by 10.2%.

According to the Kabar.kg news agency, the number of visitors from Kazakhstan amounted to 15.500 in February 2019. This number corresponds to an increase of 13.2% compared to 2018. During this period, the share of Kazakhstani citizens also rose to 0.93% in the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey.

In February 2019 the number of visitors from Kyrgyzstan amounted to 8.700 people. In this period, number of visitors from Kyrgyzstan with an increase of 6.4% compared to the same period in 2018. Citizens of Kyrgyzstan’s share in the total number of foreigners visiting Turkey was also 0.53% in February.

The total number of visitors amounted to 1 million 670 thousand in February 2019. This number increased by 9.38% compared to the same period of 2018.

Turkey's most populous city Istanbul was welcomed 984 thousand visitors and the tourism center Antalya 135 thousand visitors in February 2019.
