Transport and Infrastructure Minister Karaismailoğlu informed that 940-meter giant train consisting of 82 containers is supposed to deliver export materials from Turkey to Azerbaijan-Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan started moving from Kars to Georgia. Karaismailoğlu noted that train will go to brother countries through Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line: “This giant export train, the longest train ever operated on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway line, will deliver all the cargo within 9 days”.

Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismailoğlu said that many countries' foreign trade has been severely disrupted under the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) measures. At this point, Turkey has an important role in maintaining trade in the region by taking all measures and by human contactless rail trade Minister Karaismailoğlu: “Especially in this process, many countries in the region began to trade through the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars (BTK) railway line. Currently, a significant amount of freight is being carried on the railway by being kept in contactless and high disinfecting processes under the new type of coronavirus measures”. Karaismailoğlu explained that the cargoes were transported to brother countries Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan via Baku Tbilisi-Kars Railway line. In this context, Karaismailoğlu stated that the longest train carrying the biggest load has been departing from Kars since the opening of the BTK line.
LONGEST TRAIN OPERATED ON THE BAKU-TBILISI-KARS LINE
Minister Karaismailoğlu explained that the train carrying the cargo to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan consists of 82 containers and underlined that the train carrying export materials produced in İzmir, Adana, Mersin, Kocaeli and Kütahya is 940 meters long. Karaismailoğlu said, “This train is the longest train ever operated on the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars line. Moving from Kars, it moved to Georgia, its first stop. It will drop its cargo in other countries on the line and reach Uzbekistan within 9 days. It will deliver all the cargo within 9 days. Due to the new type of Coronavirus, many countries could not supply their needs. With this giant train, we will deliver to our brother countries their needs with Turkish products. There are many items in the train, from cleaning materials to automotive industry products. Of course, all transportation operations are carried out by subjecting people to contactless and intensive disinfection processes”.
