The main pharmacy Association of the Ministry of health of Turkmenistan intends to purchase Russian-made antiviral drugs.

The corresponding decree authorizing the implementation of this process was signed on July 8 by President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow. This was reported by CentralAsia.newsfrom the news Agency "Turkmenistan today".

It was noted that medicines will be purchased in the necessary volumes. The purchase of medicines will be carried out on the basis of contracts with pharmaceutical manufacturers of the Russian Federation.

Currently, two drugs have been approved in Russia for the treatment of a new coronavirus infection. This includes "Areplivir" from the company "R-PHARM" and "Coronavir" of the holding company "Promomed". These medicines are made on the basis of the Japanese antiviral drug "Favipiravir".

Recall that no cases of coronavirus infection have been registered in Turkmenistan. TheWHO mission arrived in the country on 6 July for 10 days to assess the epidemiological situation.

Earlier, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country noted that citizens are regularly provided with free medicines to increase immunity. In addition, the state conducts a general medical examination.
