The government of Tajikistan by its resolution instructed to approve an agreement with the government of Uzbekistan on cooperation in the field of industry and new technologies, and to take the necessary measures for its implementation, the Asia Plus agency reports.
The Resolution also instructs to notify the Uzbek side of Tajikistan's implementation of domestic procedures necessary for the entry into force of the agreement.
The agreement, the text of which was published at the end of last week on the portal of legal information of the Ministry of Justice of Tajikistan, refers to the joint implementation of projects in the light, food, chemical, construction, mining, energy and machine-building industries.
In addition, the agreement provides for the development and implementation of projects for the supply of equipment and processing technology.
It is planned to create the necessary conditions for the establishment and development of direct links between the business community. It is also planned to organize fairs and exhibitions of industrial products, forums of business circles.
The parties will take measures to develop cooperation using innovative technologies in the production of industrial goods. It is talked about the development of joint projects and their practical implementation.
Last summer during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the governments of the two countries signed an agreement on the establishment of a joint investment company with a legal address in Dushanbe to finance joint projects in Tajikistan.
The authorized capital of the "Tajik-Uzbek Investment Company" was planned in the amount of 12 million US dollars.
The founders of the company are the Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan with a 75% stake and SUE "Tajinvest" with a 25% stake in the authorized capital.
