In Zhambyl region Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin gave a start to the construction of a biopharmaceutical plant for the production of vaccines in the Research Institute (RI) of BiologicalSafetyProblems of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Education of the RK in the villageGuardeiskiy of theKordai district. The press service of the government of the Republic of Kazakhstan reports.

The plant will produce immunobiological medicines according to the international standard of good manufacturing practice (GMP), including a vaccine against coronavirus infection. Currently, the candidate vaccine of the Kazakhstan research Institute against COVID-19 is included in thelist of WHO and is successfully undergoing preclinical trials.

The company will also produce vaccines against pandemic influenza, tuberculosis, brucellosis, nodular dermatitis, small ruminant plague, contagious ecthyma of sheep and goats, sheep pox, rabies and other infectious diseases.

It is planned to complete construction work in December this year and annually produce up to 60 million doses of biopharmaceuticals.
