Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan will build an industrial trade and logistics complex on the border, as it was reported to the correspondent of the business information center "Kapital.kz" in the press service of the Ministry of Trade and Integration.

For 9 months of 2021, the trade turnover between the countries increased to $680.7 million. The task has been set to achieve the volume of mutual trade up to $ 1 billion and to increase bilateral trade up to $2 billion in the future.

"The parties planned to move on to the practical study of the issue of forming a single commodity distribution network with its further integration into the Eurasian commodity distribution system. On December 7, 2021, the Minister of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan, Bakhyt Sultanov, and the Minister of Economy and Commerce of the Kyrgyz Republic, Daniyar Amangeldiev, signed two documents. Thus, according to the Joint Action Plan ("Road map") for the creation and operation of wholesale distribution centers in Kyrgyzstan, several measures are envisaged: determining the locations  of the wholesale distribution center (ORC), working out the issue of financing, providing engineering and technical communications," the ministry said in a statement.

The priority documents – the financial and economic model, as well as the concept of the construction of the ORC will be prepared in the first quarter of next year. According to experts, the effect of the proposed measures is a double export increase of fruits and vegetables from Kyrgyzstan - from $90 million to $175 million.

"The parties continue to work together to create a cross-border Industrial Trade and Logistics Complex (ITLC). The signed Joint Action Plan for the establishment and operation of the ITLC in the area of the Karasu and Ak-Tilek road checkpoints is a continuation of the agreements and includes all the preparatory, regulatory and necessary investment measures," the Ministry of Trade and Integration explained.
