According to the statement of Meyircan Yusupov, Chairman of the Board of KAZAKH INVEST, in the first 9 months of 2021, direct investment from Turkey to Kazakhstan has almost doubled and reached 534.6 million dollars.

Meyircan Yusupov at the Turkey-Kazakhstan Forum in Nur-Sultan: “The Turkish business community mainly invests in agro-industrial complex, light food industries and engineering. In addition, there are large projects in the pharmaceutical, transportation, logistics and mining sectors.

The main projects implemented by Turkish investors before were as follows: Abdi İbrahim, YDA Holding, Yıldırım Holding, Aselsan, ÜLKER, Okan Holding company and beverage producing Anadolu Group invested more than 700 million dollars in Kazakhstan's economy and provided employment to 2,400 people.

As a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the volume of direct investment in the world decreased by 42% in 2020, and by 30% in Kazakhstan. However, Turkish investments in Kazakhstan in 2020 increased by 1.3 percent compared to 2019 and amounted to 362.4 million dollars. In the first nine months of last year, investments from Turkey to Kazakhstan increased by 1.9 times compared to the same period of the previous year and reached 534.6 million dollars.

In addition, a Kazakh-Turkish business forum was held in Nur-Sultan as part of the working visit of Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay. More than 250 representatives of business and government institutions of the two countries attended the forum. The event aims to create a platform to strengthen business ties between the business communities of Kazakhstan and Turkey, as well as to discuss the prospects for cooperation in the field of trade and investment between the two countries.
