By the end of 2021, the gross inflow of foreign direct investment in Kazakhstan (FDI) amounted to $ 23.7 billion, which is 37.7% higher than in 2020 ($17.2 billion). This was reported by the press service of KAZAKH INVEST.
"According to the National Bank of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kazakhstan was able not only to reverse the trend of declining foreign capital flows into the country, but also to reach the indicators of 2017-2019," the company said in a statement.
In the country context, the top five countries with the largest volume of investments in the economy of Kazakhstan remained unchanged. The Netherlands, the USA, Switzerland, Russia and China confidently hold the lead with an increase in the volume of injections from 25% to 92%. The share of investments from the above countries is 68.3% of the total volume of attracted investments.
There have been significant changes in the second part of the TOP 10 countries. Belgium displaced the UK from the 6th place, showing a significant increase of 35.1%. South Korea, with an increase of 73.2%, moved from 9th to 8th place, ahead of French investors, who closed the top ten largest donors of investments. Turkish investors also provided an 87% increase in capital investments in the republic and placed on the 9th position in the rating, ahead of France.

KAZAKH INVEST recalled that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, responsible for attracting investments, predicted to attract over $ 19 billion of foreign investment by the end of 2021.
