President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov received Vice President of the Republic of Turkey Fuat Oktay.

The Kyrgyz president’s press service said that the sides exchanged views on topical issues and priorities of bilateral cooperation, touched upon the results of the 10th meeting of the Intergovernmental Commission on Trade and Economic Cooperation and the last Kyrgyz-Turkish business forum.

President Zhaparov emphasized that since the establishment of diplomatic relations, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey have laid a solid foundation for cooperation in all areas of bilateral interaction. The Kyrgyz side is ready to further expand joint cooperation, taking into account the interests of the two countries.

He expressed confidence that the bilateral events held today, including the Kyrgyz-Turkish business forum, will contribute to building up joint trade and economic partnership.

President Sadyr Zhaparov noted the interest of the Kyrgyz side in taking bilateral relations of a strategic nature to a qualitatively new level.

In turn, Turkish Vice President Fuat Oktay, thanking the Kyrgyz side for the hospitality, conveyed warm greetings to Sadyr Zhaparov and the entire Kyrgyz people on behalf of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

He noted with satisfaction that the agreements reached during Sadyr Zhaparov's official visit to Turkey are being fruitfully implemented by both parties.

Fuat Oktay noted that for 8 months of this year there is a positive dynamics of trade turnover between the countries and the sides intend to gradually increase it to USD 1 billion per year.

The vice president of Turkey expressed his readiness to deepen joint cooperation in the spheres of health care, education, energy, subsoil use and other areas of mutual interest.
