According to the statement made by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ibrahim Cunusov, at the ceremony held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic, the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan aims to increase its trade volume to 2 billion USD. According to Cunusov, last year marked a breakthrough in the development of multifaceted Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan cooperation.

Especially during the official visit of the President of Kyrgyzstan Sadir Japarov to Uzbekistan, agreements were reached on doubling the trade turnover and removing all obstacles, establishing a Kyrgyz-Uzbek Investment Fund with a registered capital of 200 million USD.

"This visit contributed to the creation of the Kyrgyz-Uzbek Business Council, which constitutes a new platform to deepen the economic partnership," noted the ambassador.

It was noted that within the framework of the first Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan Business Forum in Tashkent, about 60 joint projects worth more than $550 million were agreed to be implemented and related contracts were signed after the results of the Business Forum.
