Iran will provide Kyrgyzstan with land from the port of Bandar Abbas for access to the sea. This was announced by Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyzstan Ruslan Kazakbaev and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Hossein Amir Abdullahian at a meeting of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

According to the press service of the Foreign Ministry, the parties discussed issues related to trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian cooperation, and interaction in the field of healthcare and the situation in Afghanistan.

“The Iranian side expressed gratitude to Kyrgyzstan for supporting its candidacy to become a full member of the SCO. Minister Kazakbayev noted the importance of using the transit and transport potential between the countries, in connection with which he expressed interest in using the Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan railway corridor, which contributes to an increase in trade between the countries, “the press service said.

The Iranian Foreign Minister announced the government's decision to provide Kyrgyzstan with a land plot and related infrastructure in the Bandar Abbas port for transit and delivery of goods.

The parties also discussed the issue of opening a trade center of Iran in Bishkek.

Hossein Amir Abdollahiyan invited Kazakbayev to visit Iran at any convenient time, in turn; the Kyrgyz side also invited the Iranian Foreign Minister to visit Bishkek.
