Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan plan to open a joint venture on the territory of the Kyrgyz Republic to produce "smart" meters, Tazabek reports.

Chairman of the Board of the National Energy Holding of the Kyrgyz Republic Talaibek Baigaziev during a working trip to Uzbekistan got acquainted with the activities of the energy company for the production of electric energy metering devices "Uzelectroapparat-Electroshield" and JSC "Regional Electric Networks". During the working visit Talaibek Baigaziev met with the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of JSC "Regional Electric Networks" Zhakhongir Obidzhanov, got acquainted with the conditions created for consumers in the suburbs of Khiva, and also learned about the reforms being carried out in the region, in particular, about the conditions for the introduction of an Automated System of Electricity Metering and Control (ASEMC). To date, the National Energy Holding has determined further plans for cooperation with Uzbek partners based on the results of previously reached agreements on the supply of electric energy metering devices and the opening of a joint venture for the production of ASEMC meters in Kyrgyzstan.
