On February 25, 2022, the Kyrgyzstan-Turkey Business Forum was held in Ankara, organized by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey jointly with the Turkish Confederation of Industrialists, Businesswomen and Businessmen (Sankon).
The business forum was held offline with the participation of more than 60 entrepreneurs from Turkey, and 10 businessmen from Kyrgyzstan joined the forum online.
In his speech, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Republic of Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev informed the participants regarding the Kyrgyz-Turkish trade and economic relations, the investment potential of Kyrgyzstan and the conditions for doing business in our country. He drew attention to low taxes, energy potential and that only 10% of it is used, bilateral agreements in the field of investment protection and avoidance of double taxation, as well as markets for manufactured products in the EAEU and under the GSP+ and GSP programs to the European Union and the USA, respectively. Ambassador called on Turkish business circles to actively invest and open production sites in Kyrgyzstan.
The President of Sankon Ferudun Cevahiroglu expressed the readiness of the member companies of this Confederation to increase ties with the Kyrgyz business community, as well as to consider the implementation of investment projects, incl. in the field of PPP.
Also at the business forum, a representative of the Investment and Development Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic made a presentation on investment opportunities and projects of Kyrgyzstan in the field of energy, processing industry, tourism and transport.
Within the framework of the forum, the following 4 panel sessions were held on the topic: export/import, engineering and defense industry; construction, information technology and metallurgy; energy, medicine, education, finance and banking; tourism, textiles, food, employer and labor unions law.
