It is planned to open trade and logistics centers for agricultural producers and cargo transit on the border areas of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Kazakhstan. This was reported in the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic.
According to the press service, the day before, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic Ruslan Kazakbaev met with the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan Rapil Zhoshybaev. The sides thoroughly discussed a wide range of topical and current issues of Kyrgyz-Kazakh relations in the political, trade, economic, cultural and humanitarian spheres.
Within the framework of the upcoming 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan, a mutual opinion was expressed on the importance of organizing the upcoming visits at the highest and high levels this year, in particular the upcoming official visit of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to the Kyrgyz Republic and the next meeting of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh Intergovernmental Council in Bishkek.
"Special attention was paid to the implementation of joint plans and projects, including the creation of joint trade and logistics and wholesale distribution centers in the border areas for the convenience of agricultural producers, as well as the transit of goods," the report says.
Kazakbayev also expressed a request to speed up the issue of resuming the unhindered crossing of the Kyrgyz-Kazakh state border by Kyrgyz citizens through land-based road checkpoints.
In addition, the parties discussed issues of joint cultural events, in particular the Days of Culture of Kyrgyzstan in Kazakhstan in autumn 2022 and the establishment of monuments in Bishkek and Nur-Sultan.
