In the period from March 16 to 17, 2022 in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, a delegation headed by the General Director of the State Enterprise "NC "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu" (The Kyrgyz Railway) Azamat Sakiev took part in a meeting of heads of railway administrations on the project of development of the international multimodal corridor "Asia-Pacific countries - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Europe". This was reported by the State Enterprise "NC "Kyrgyz Temir Zholu".
During the meeting, issues were discussed and agreements were reached on the organization of uninterrupted cargo transportation, as well as timely delivery of fitting platforms and a tariff corridor along this international multimodal route.
In his speech, the head of the Kyrgyz Temir Zholu company Azamat Sakiev expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Uzbek Railway for organizing the meeting and stressed the significant relevance and importance of the development of the international multimodal corridor project.
"The Kyrgyz Railway attaches strategic importance to supporting the launch of a container train along a multimodal transport corridor. I am sure that this meeting will act as a powerful incentive for further practical solutions to all existing issues of successful promotion of this project," A. Sakiev said.
It should be noted that a number of proposals from the Kyrgyz Railway were announced during the meeting, which were taken into account, in particular, a permanent working group was created from among the experts of railway administrations to further accelerate the launch of a multimodal international transport corridor and resolve all issues related to the organization of unhindered movement of goods along this route. The working group of the Kyrgyz Railway was headed by Deputy General Director Dastan Usubakunov.
The meeting participants unanimously supported the decision to hold the next meeting of heads of railway administrations to promote the project of the international multimodal corridor "Asia-Pacific Countries - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan- Georgia Europe" in Kyrgyzstan.
In conclusion, the Protocol of the meeting of the heads of the railway administrations of Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Iran and Turkey on the development of the international multimodal route "Asia-Pacific countries - China - Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan - Turkmenistan - Azerbaijan - Georgia - Turkey - Europe" was signed.
