Deputy Minister of Economy Kanat Abdrakhmanov suggested to the Central Asian countries to jointly develop and use the ports of the Caspian Sea. He said this at the round table "Transformation of trade flows in Central Asia" in Tashkent.

The Deputy Minister noted that in the near future it is necessary to make joint efforts to develop existing and form new transport corridors.

He cited as an example the use of the possibilities of the multimodal transport corridor "Kashgar-Irkeshtam-Osh-Andijan-Tashkent".

"This will increase the competitiveness of the Central Asian countries in the world market of services and the quality of transport services for foreign trade flows," he said.

The Deputy Minister also informed about the need to develop new transport and logistics corridors, for example, multimodal transportation along the route: the port of Bandar Abbas (Iran (sea route)) and further along the railway through Turkmenistan - Uzbekistan - Kyrgyzstan.

The round table was held with the participation of representatives of Central Asian government agencies, international financial institutions and business representatives, moderated by Eric Livni, EBRD Regional Economist.
