Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of Kyrgyzstan Akylbek Zhaparov and Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov discussed the state and prospects of bilateral cooperation, the press service of the Cabinet reported.

"I would like to emphasize that the Republic of Uzbekistan is a reliable neighbor, strategic partner and brotherly state for the Kyrgyz Republic. We are aimed at further development and strengthening of bilateral relations in the whole range of directions. I express gratitude to the leadership of Uzbekistan for the construction of schools in the villages of Samarkandek and Margun in Batken Oblast, as well as reconstruction of the building of the Osh State Academic Uzbek Music and Drama Theatre named after Babur. These decisions of the brotherly Uzbek side are a vivid confirmation of the friendship between our peoples," Zhaparov said.

In turn, Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Abdulla Aripov expressed gratitude for the warm welcome. He noted the importance of further development of bilateral relations, adding that industrial cooperation is actively developing between the countries, significant joint projects in the field of energy, transport, logistics are being implemented, and the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund has been launched to financially support projects.

During the meeting topical issues of bilateral cooperation and cooperation in the field of energy, agriculture, transport and cross-border trade were discussed.

The parties also discussed the construction of Irkeshtam - Daroot-Korgon - Uch-Korgon road, logistics center of cross-border trade in Kyzyl-Kiya, as well as specific aspects of implementation of joint infrastructure projects, for which the potential of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund can be used.

Akylbek Zhaparov and Abdulla Aripov stressed the interest and readiness to deepen bilateral cooperation in trade, economic and investment spheres.
