A secondary school called M. Baetov opened in Margun village in Leylek district of Batken district. The estimated cost of the project was $3.5 million allocated by Uzbekistan, the Cabinet press service reported.

The school's inauguration ceremony was attended by Council of Ministers President Akılbek Caparov and Uzbekistan Prime Minister Abdullah Aripov via video conference.

Kyrgyzstan Council of Ministers Chairman Akılbek Caparov said: "Batken region borders Fergana region of Uzbekistan. We support the expansion and enhancement of mutual cooperation with Uzbekistan in all areas. I thank the Uzbekistan administration for their assistance in building this facility

"Uzbekistan's Prime Minister stressed that such events would further strengthen the friendship between the two brotherly peoples and wished Kyrgyzstan peace and prosperity. It is also among the information that the construction of the new school building with a capacity of 330 people started in July 2021.
