According to the Kyrgyzstan Cabinet press service, the founding capital of the "Uzbekistan-Kyrgyzstan Development Fund" is currently $50m.In the future, its capital will be increased to $200m. The official opening ceremony of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund took place on April 14th.

The meeting was attended by Council of Ministers Chairman Akylbek Japarov and Uzbekistan's Deputy Prime Minister, Investment and Foreign Trade Minister Sardor Umurzakov.

Akylbek Japarov said that Uzbekistan is one of Kyrgyzstan's key trade and economic partners. Furthermore, Kyrgyzstan has said it is ready to take decisive steps to boost trade volume, Akılbek Caparov said. Caparov continued his speech; projects to build logistical centres near the two countries border are being implemented at an active stage today. Special attention is paid to the construction and commissioning of a trade and logistics centre connecting Fergana and Batken regions in Kyzyl-Kaya. I hope that the centre will give great momentum to the development of exports and imports between the two countries.

It is also among the information received that Aziz Aliyev, Former Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, has been appointed as the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund for 3 years.
