Representatives of the Kyrgyzstan Legprom Association and ready-made apparel companies visited Uzbekistan to study the experience of textile and ready-made apparel companies, establish business contacts with enterprises, and search for potential raw materials suppliers.

During the visit, a delegation headed by Kyrgyzstan (Legprom) Light Industry Association President Sapar Asanov participated in the Tashkent textile forum. The forum assessed the current state of the textile industry in Uzbekistan, Belarus and Kyrgyzstan. At the same time, co-operation issues between the two countries focused on the prospects for development of the textile and clothing industry.

In addition, fruitful meetings with the presidents of Bellegprom and Uztekstilprom associations were held as part of the forum to discuss possible co-operation in providing raw materials to the Kyrgyz Republic's ready-to-wear sector. A delegation from Kyrgyzstan participated in the UxTextile Expo, the 4th international exhibition of the textile and fashion industry, held in Tashkent. Ready-to-wear companies from the Kyrgyz Republic have recognized the textile varieties exhibited at the fair, as well as conducted a series of meetings with textile producers. Subsequently, a delegation of members of the Legprom Association visited fabric producing companies, paint factories, finished product companies and the Uzbek-Korean educational and practical textile Kor-Uz Textile Park.

They discussed co-operation in Uzbekistan, including the establishment of joint ventures in the ready-to-wear sector, the training of personnel in this area, improvement of co-operation between the two countries' training centers, and supply of raw materials to the Kyrgyz ready-to-wear industry.
