The Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Turkey Kubanychbek Omuraliev held talks with the Mayor of Malatya Selahattin Gyurkan and discussed with him the possibility of assisting in the promotion of the Batken apricot. This is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
It was noted at the meeting that the cities of Malatya and Batken are twin cities and there is a need to establish closer cooperation between the cities.
"Taking into account the fact that about 70% of Turkish apricot production is concentrated in the Malatya region, which ranks second in the world in apricot exports, the ambassador expressed a request to provide practical assistance with new technologies for growing and processing fruit, as well as to assist in promoting the export of Batken apricot," the message reads.
Omuraliev also expressed gratitude to the Mayor of Malatya for helping ethnic Kyrgyz living in the city, and taking into account that the number of Kyrgyz citizens arriving for work and training has been increasing lately, he expressed a request to assist in their arrangement in the city.
