Eurasian Development Bank, Kyrgyzstan Ministry of Natural Resources, Environment and Technical Inspection, Astana Green Finance Center and Bishkek Solar signed a cooperation agreement in Bishkek on financing the first phase of the construction of a solar power plant in Kyrgyzstan as part of the Eurasian Economic Forum.

Eurasian Development Bank (EAEU) said in a statement, “This is the first project of this kind in Kyrgyzstan. The capacity of the solar power plant will reach 50 MW or 91 million kWh per year. The new renewable energy plant will be located in the north of the country, in the Issyk Kul region. The solar power plant will provide the required additional energy volume. "It will reduce power cuts and help conserve the country's water resources," he said.

Under the agreement, the Eurasian Development Bank (EAEU) plans to finance the construction of the plant up to $40 million.
