President Sadyr Zhaparov arrived on a state visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan. During the visit on April 24-25, the head of state held bilateral talks with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and discussed topical issues of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, as well as prospects for further development and building effective interaction.
After the meeting, Presidents Sadyr Zhaparov and Ilham held the second meeting of the Interstate Council ( ISC) of the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Azerbaijan.
Ilham Aliyev warmly welcomed Sadyr Zhaparov and expressed confidence that the results of the state visit would serve to further strengthen fraternal, friendly relations between the countries and peoples.
The President of Azerbaijan emphasized that there is complete identity of approaches of the two countries to the development of cooperation both in bilateral and multilateral formats.
Ilham Aliyev also noted that representatives of relevant ministries of the two countries are in constant contact, actively cooperate and hold regular consultations on a number of issues of mutual interest.
In turn, Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov thanked Ilham Aliyev for warm words and traditional hospitality. He expressed confidence that this visit would give a great impetus to deepening relations between the two countries, and the documents signed today would contribute to expanding cooperation.
The head of state emphasized that Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan have ample opportunities for practical cooperation in all spheres. Sadyr Zhaparov noted that relations between the brotherly countries are based on a solid foundation - deep historical and spiritual ties between our peoples.
President Sadyr Zhaparov stated that Kyrgyzstan is ready for further development of interaction on existing and future mechanisms of cooperation.
In the course of the meeting, the heads of state of the two countries heard reports of the specialized state bodies of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan on the status and prospects of bilateral cooperation in trade and economic, cultural and humanitarian, energy and agricultural spheres.
During the state visit of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Zhaparov to the Republic of Azerbaijan, which took place on April 24, a number of bilateral documents were signed.
