The international company Masdar from the UAE will build one of the largest wind farms in the world in Navoi region, according to the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade.

The day before, an investment agreement was signed on the construction and operation of a 500 MW wind farm. For Masdar, this is the second major project in Uzbekistan. In October last year, they won a tender for the construction of a 100 MW solar power plant in Navoi region. Documents on the implementation of this project were signed in January 2020.
The new power plant will not only create additional jobs, but also increase the production of available electricity to 1.9 GWh per year. This will be enough to provide for more than 500,000 households.
The introduction of modern technology will be aimed at reducing the use of natural gas to 175 million cubic meters, which is necessary for electricity production, and reducing carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere by 1.1 million tons per year.
Construction work is planned for 2020-2023.
