Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan intend to create favorable conditions for cargo transportation on the route "China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Turkey-Europe" through the international seaport "Turkmenbashi".

This issue was discussed at a meeting of the Uzbek-Turkmen working group on transport issues on Thursday in the form of a videoconference with the participation of Deputy Minister of Transport of Uzbekistan Abdusamat Muminov and Chairman of the Agency "Turkmendemirellary" Azat Atamuradov. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan.

During the meeting, prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of transport and logistics were discussed, in particular, the intensification of work on the Ashgabat Agreement with all participants of the international transit and transport corridor "Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Iran-Oman".

In addition, the issue of reopening border checkpoints closed due to the pandemic of a new type of coronavirus (COVID-19) was considered.

The agreements to develop the international multimodal route "Asia-Pacific countries-China-Kyrgyzstan-Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-Azerbaijan-Georgia-Europe" were agreed in December 2019 in Tashkent.
