Serdar Keskin, Head of the Uzbek-Turkish Export Development Center, said: "Uzbekistan and Turkey have taken a step closer to the goal set by the presidents of the two countries to increase the volume of mutual trade to $5 billion in recent years".

Keskin made assessments on trade relations and volume of foreign trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey. He pointed out that recently cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade and investment has been decelerating. The reasons for this are the investment in Uzbekistan, which has taken meaningful steps to improve the business and investment climate in the country and significantly increasement of Turkish businessmen’s number coming to make investments and build business.

He noted that the volume of foreign trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey, which was $1 billion 654.2 million in January-October 2020 increased to $2 billion 710.9 million in the same period of this year. "Turkey became the second country, after Russia that increased its foreign trade volume with Uzbekistan in January-October period of this year", he said.

He stated that the volume of foreign trade between Uzbekistan and Turkey will exceed $3 billion for the first time. "Uzbekistan and Turkey are one step closer to the goal set by the presidents of the two countries on increasing the volume of mutual trade to $5 billion in recent years", he expressed.
