An event dedicated to the opening of a new railway route "Turkey-Iran-Turkmenistan-Uzbekistan" was held at the Central Railway Station of Tashkent.

The meeting ceremony of the first freight train departing from Turkey to Uzbekistan took place at the event. Uzbekiston Temir Yullari Joint Stock Company jointly with the Turkish side has developed a cargo transportation route from Gumrukh station to Tashkent city. In particular, a train of 40 wagons with household appliances (refrigeration equipment) passed through the territory of Turkey, Iran and Turkmenistan and arrived in Uzbekistan today.

This route with a total length of more than 4,500 km is an additional opportunity to transport goods from Uzbekistan to international markets.

All these measures will make it possible to effectively use the existing transport and communication networks and infrastructure in the region, significantly reducing the time and financial costs of transporting foreign trade goods to the main world and regional markets.

The ceremony was attended by the Chairman of the Board of JSC Uzbekiston Temir Yollari H. Khasilov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Turkey to Uzbekistan Olgan Bekar, representatives of the Turkish Railways, as well as businessmen who first brought their goods in wagons at the opening of a new railway route.
