President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Singapore Halima Yakub held talks at the Kuksaroy residence in Uzbekistan on May 24. The sides highly appreciated the level of development of mutually beneficial cooperation between the two countries. This was reported to Central Asia.News in the press service of the head of the republic.

The Presidents noted with satisfaction that the partnership between Uzbekistan and Singapore has reached a new level. The total amount of funds allocated for joint projects now amounts to $3.8 billion. The speech is about initiatives in the chemical, transport, educational and urban planning spheres.

The visit of President Halima Yakub was the first official one since the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Singapore 25 years ago. The parties positively assessed the implementation of all previously concluded agreements.

One of the latest joint investment projects is the construction of a petrochemical complex in the city of Gazli. Numerous projects for the development of transport infrastructure, such as rail and air links, are also being implemented. Educational and research programs are also among the priorities for the development of cooperation between the two countries.
