BYD Uzbekistan Factory plans to achieve production of 500,000 electric and hybrid vehicles by 2027. This was stated by Deputy Director of BYD Uzbekistan Factory Diyor Mukhamedov at the exhibition “Innoprom. Central Asia" in Tashkent.

In September 2023, it was announced that the Chinese BYD plans to create an enterprise for the production of electric and hybrid cars in Uzbekistan.

“We plan to start production in June of this year. This year we plan to produce 10,000 cars, and next year we plan to reach a volume of 50,000,” said a company representative.

According to him, by 2026-2027 the company intends to produce up to 500,000 cars per year. He also noted that this will be achieved by modernizing existing production or building a new plant.

In September 2023, an agreement on the implementation of the project was signed between the government of Uzbekistan and the investor. The BYD brand has been officially represented in Uzbekistan since the beginning of 2023.

The plant will be located on the territory of the Jizzakh free economic zone. At the first stage, the production capacity of the plant will be 50 thousand units of cars. It is planned to produce three car models - BYD Chazor and BYD Song Plus Dm-1 using the small-knot assembly (CKD) method.
