At the last meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Government of Turkmenistan, chaired by the President of Turkmenistan Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow, explained that in the January-September period of 2019, the GDP increased by 6.3 percent.

According to Kabar.kg news site, Gocmurat Muradov, Vice President of Finance, gave information about the economic indicators in the first nine months of 2019 at the Council of Ministers meeting. He stated that the growth in Gross Domestic Product increased by 6.3% in the January-September period of 2019 of compared to the same period of 2018.

Retail trade turnover volume increased by 19.1% compared to the same period in 2018, Turkmenistan State News Agency reported. 2.8% growth was also observed in foreign trade.

President Berdimuhamedow, who made an assessment at the meeting, said that large amounts of investments were made in socio-economic areas within the scope of Turkmenistan Development Program. He also added that 30 billion Turkmen manats (about 8.6 billion USD) had been invested this year and national and international projects had been implemented.
